Eschscholzia californica - California Poppy and the sub-species Mexican Gold Poppy are perhaps the most popular wildflower in the American Southwest. Found in early spring in southern California, Arizona, parts of New Mexico, and Sonora, Mexico. It is also the state flower of California.
